Horse racing tips: Leicester and Plumpton – Monday November 20

Jump racing holds sway on Monday with three afternoon meetings before a solitary Flat card in the evening.

Exeter (12.10-4.00pm) is the first port of call, with Leicester (12.20-3.40), Plumpton (12.30-3.50) and Kempton (4.30-8.30) completing an all-English line-up.

Among our Monday fancies is a Chris Gordon-trained six-year-old who should come on bundles for their season reappearance and enhance his handler’s tremendous record at Plumpton.

Horse racing tips: Leicester 2.05

Barry Brennan’s nine-year-old CREM FRESH should have too much in the locker for her younger rivals in this 1m 7½f mares’ handicap hurdle for novices.

Lightly raced, with just 13 career runs under Rules to her name, Crem Fresh returned from a 234-day break to win in style at Fakenham on Sunday. Despite racing keenly throughout, she was given a very positive ride by Gavin Sheehan and was driven out to score easily by more than four lengths.

The handicapper has responded with a 7lb rise in the weights but she could still be potentially well ahead of her mark. She is also proven on heavy ground, so the testing conditions won’t be a concern.

Potential dangers include Aviewofthestars, who is seeking a hat-trick on her first run for trainer Stella Barclay, and Passing Kate who runs off a workable mark at the foot of the weights.

Selection: Crem Fresh @ 9/4 with Paddy Power

Horse racing tips: Leicester 3.10

Trainer Olly Murphy commands respect for his 25 per cent strike-rate at Leicester over the past five seasons, so AUDITORIA catches the eye with Sean Bowen booked for the ride.

The mare was coming back after a 151-day absence when finishing second at Fontwell last month. Now the cobwebs have been blown away, plenty of improvement can be expected from the mare off an unchanged mark in what is far from a deep race on paper.

She is likely to go off in front and try to make all, and the visor she wore when successful at Taunton in March is tried again here.

The biggest threat to the selection could be Impression Chic, trained by Richard Hobson. The former pointer sported a tongue strap for the first time when making a winning chase debut at Fontwell last month and followed that up with a fine second at Musselburgh when last seen.

Selection: Auditoria @ 4/1 with Paddy Power

Horse racing tips: Plumpton 3.50

Chris Gordon has sent out 54 winners from his previous 240 runners at Plumpton and this 3m 1f handicap hurdle can go to his gelding SAN PEDRO on just his second start for the yard.

A well-bred son of Gleneagles, San Pedro started life on the Flat with Aidan O’Brien, the highlight being a win over 7f on soft/heavy ground at Leopardstown in 2019.

San Pedro had a short stint with John Halley before moving to Paul Henderson, for whom he won twice over hurdles before moving on to the Gordon team after his win at Fontwell in May.

He is only 3lb higher than when successful that day but Freddie Gordon takes off a valuable 3lb and that could make all the difference. He looks sure to give it a good shot in a weak enough race.

Selection: San Pedro @ 11/4 with Paddy Power
