PLAY touches down in Wales

Date:

Low cost carrier PLAY has officially landed in the Principality.

Cardiff Airport welcomed the Iceland based airline with a customary water salute on the tarmac.

It marks the start of new Iceland flights linking Cardiff to Reykjavík, twice a week.

PLAY’s inaugural seasonal flight schedule at Cardiff began a day before the Wales football game in Iceland.

Lee Smith, Cardiff Wales Airport’s Head of Business Development, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome PLAY to Wales today. This exciting service allows customers to enjoy direct flights between Wales and Iceland for the first time.”

“We look forward to working with the team at PLAY to continue growing in Wales.”

PLAY customer travelling on connecting Reykjavík flights can take advantage of PLAY’s free stopovers in Iceland, flying onward to any of five cities in North America.
