LLANDYSUL, Carmarthenshire, MB Boxing and Fitness Club has earned a reputation for excellence over the past three years. Founded by former boxer Morgan Baxter, the club serves the communities of West Wales, including Llandysul, Newcastle Emlyn, Pencader Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Aberaeron, and New Quay. MB Boxing Club’s mission is simple, to provide a safe, friendly, and inclusive training environment where members of all ages and abilities can achieve their fitness and boxing goals, whether they’re aiming for championship success or simply seeking a powerful, full-body workout.

Morgan Baxter’s personal story is one of resilience and transformation. “I’ve always been into boxing. I wasn’t good at school as an academic, and I was jumping from job to job, doing part-time work. Everything changed when I met my Mrs and we had our little girl. That pushed me to become successful. I opened the gym mainly to lose weight to compete again after Covid, but it took off. If I can help someone else achieve their goals, it makes me feel better too.”

At MB Boxing, everyone is treated equally. The gym maintains a zero-tolerance policy for intimidation or bullying, ensuring that everyone, from newcomers to seasoned athletes, feels welcomed and supported. The club’s culture is built on respect, personal growth, and a strong work ethic. Whether training to compete or to improve fitness, members will find a space to grow without judgement.

Morgan encourages anyone considering joining the gym to take that first step: “Just do it! The hardest part is walking through the door. Show up, be consistent, and put in the work. Success is about persistence. Keep your head down, stay consistent and you’ll get where you want to be.”

MB Boxing offers structured classes for both beginners and advanced boxers. Whether members want to develop boxing techniques, build strength, or improve fitness, there is a class for everyone. Adult Boxing sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays near Cardigan, focusing on skills, conditioning, and endurance. Junior Boxing classes (which are free) take place on Mondays and Thursdays, where young members build a strong foundation in boxing techniques in a friendly, inclusive environment.

Boxing is an excellent fitness tool that burns maximum calories, tones and sculpts the body, and improves cardiovascular health while building mental toughness. Whether training to compete or simply for fitness, members are supported every step of the way.

MB Boxing ensures no one is left behind. One-on-one support is available if needed, with training tailored to individual levels. The gym also caters to people with special needs and offers free kids’ classes to make boxing and fitness accessible to all. This weekend, Morgan personally opened the gym on Saturday and Sunday mornings, offering free sparring sessions to help boxers improve their skills and build confidence. “It’s not about the money; it’s about going above and beyond for my boxers. I’ll always do what I can to help them succeed,” he said.

MB Boxing is fully equipped with treadmills, exercise bikes, rowing machines, and more. A monthly membership costs just £30, which provides unlimited access to all classes and equipment. For those who prefer more flexibility, drop-in classes are available at £5 each, and package deals offer savings for regular attendees.

The gym’s approach is no-nonsense, focused on discipline and hard work. Experienced coaches ensure that every member receives personalised training, from building fundamental skills to enhancing endurance and strength. The philosophy is clear, every journey starts with small steps, and the club is committed to helping members build a strong foundation that leads to long-term success.

Whether pursuing fitness or competition, MB Boxing offers the ideal environment to push limits, grow, and achieve personal goals. Members come from all over, but they share a common passion, the desire to improve, become stronger, and get fitter. Joining the MB Boxing family is the first step toward a healthier, newer you.

Morgan encourages everyone to get involved, offering guidance and mentorship to those who are ready. “I encourage my current members to keep working hard. What you want to achieve will happen. A lot of it is hard work, yet a lot of it is luck. Get your head down and start working.” Followed by, “To newcomers, just do it. Get in the gym. Be persistent, be consistent, and always show up.”
