Provided by clothing-alteration service The Seam, ‘Fit & Fix’ was first announced on 1 February 2023 and originally only included products sold through womenswear platform Net-A-Porter.
The Seam’s offering for Mr Porter customers includes clothing alterations, bespoke customisations, repair services knitwear, outwear, footwear and accessories as well as sneaker cleaning.
Similarly to Net-A-Porter, most ‘Fit & Fix’ services will be completed within seven to 10 days, with express service offered subject to availability.
The repair service will also be extended to YNAP’s fashion outlet platform The Outnet in the coming weeks.
On Tuesday (7 March), The Seam was awarded the Circular Fashion Innovator’s Fund grand prize by judges from Ebay UK, the British Fashion Council and the Ellen McArthur Foundation, receiving an additional £10,000 in grant funding to help accelerate its growth.
The Seam founder and CEO Layla Sargent said: “We will use the £10,000 funding to help accelerate The Seam’s growth, by developing its data and insight capabilities to drive behavioural change within the industry.
“By developing our data, we will focus on informing consumers of their carbon savings and the increase to resale value when they repair a pre-loved garment. We will also use insights to inform brands about the lifecycle of their products to encourage greater circularity.”
